River Forest Police Blotter: Diaper Swiper Caught

Criminal trespassing reported, leaf blower left behind.

The following items are taken from the River Forest daily summary reports. In all incidents where an arrest occurred, a charge is merely an accusation and not evidence of guilt. The arrested person is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.

Criminal Trespass: Clemente Flores, 45, of Cicero, was charged Aug. 28 with criminal trespass to property and driving on a revoked registration, police said. Authorities said Flores had been banned from the , 7527 W. Lake St., but was stopped after entering the parking lot in a Ford pick-up truck that contained a number of pallets.

Traffic Arrest: Silverio Villegas-Gonzalez, 24, of Chicago, was charged with driving without a license, driving without insurance, having improper lights on his car and failing to have children – ages 8 and 6 - in safety restraints, after an Aug. 28 traffic stop North and Fifth Avenues in Maywood, police said.

Retail Theft: Arsenio Martinez, 38, was charged Aug. 26 with retail theft after attempting to take two packages of diapers valued at $19.98 from , 7527 W. Lake St., police said.

Theft: A locked bicycle was taken Aug. 26 from a rack at , 7400 Augusta Ave. Estimated value was $100.

Traffic Arrest: Daniel Mena, 22, of Chicago was charged Aug. 24 with driving on a revoked license after a traffic stop at Jackson and North Avenues, police said.

Retail Theft: A theft was averted at , 7251 W. Lake St., on Aug. 23, when a woman tried to steal $92 worth of hair care products but tossed them from her purse when confronted by the store manager. The offender drove out of the parking lot and then south on Harlem Avenue.

Theft: A power drill and bag of power tools were taken Aug. 23 from the open garage of a home in the area of Williams Street and Oak Avenue. A leaf blower was recovered in the parkway, and police believe the thief may have taken removed it to make room for other stolen items in his vehicle. Estimated loss was $1,800.

Criminal Damage: A home in the 7300 block of Greenfield Street was egged on Aug. 22.

Traffic Arrest: Deidre Dean, 19, of Chicago, was charged Aug. 22 with driving on a suspended license after a traffic stop in the 7300 block of North Avenue, police said.
