River Forest Police Blotter: Dozens of Stamps Swiped from Concordia Sub-Station

The following information was supplied by the River Forest Police Department. Where arrests or charges are mentioned, it does not indicate a conviction.

Traffic Arrest: Gonzalo Estrada, 48, of Chicago, was charged Dec. 10 with driving without a valid license after River Forest police stopped him in the 400 block of Harlem Avenue for having an expired registration on his car, police said. He also was charged with driving without insurance.

Theft: Approximately $1,920 worth of postage stamps was stolen sometime between Dec. 6 and Dec. 9 from an office filing cabinet at Brohm Hall, on the campus of , 7400 Augusta St. The U.S. Postal Service has a sub-branch in that building, police said.

Criminal Trespassing: Jeremiah Ollison, 21, of Chicago, was charged with criminal trespass to land Dec. 9 after repeatedly being warned to stay away from Town Center in River Forest, police said. He was apprehended at , 7349 Lake St. Police said Ollison had been banned from the Center for aggressive panhandling.

Theft: A vinyl poster of unknown value was stolen sometime between Dec. 8 and Dec. 9 from the north west side of the lot at , 1515 Lathrop Ave. 

DUI Arrest: Martin Gonzalez, 47, of Melrose Park, was charged with drunken driving and improper lane usage Dec. 9 after he was pulled over at Lake Street and Thatcher Avenue, police said.

Traffic Arrest: Rubie Mason, 66, of Hillside, was charged with driving on a suspended license Dec. 8 after a routine plate check revealed that her plates had been suspended for insurance violations, police said. She was stopped in the area of Washington Boulevard and First Avenue in Maywood.

Theft: An iPhone was stolen Sept. 30 from the purse of a freshman attending the homecoming dance at , 7574 Division St., but was not reported to police until Dec. 7. The 14-year-old told police she thought a friend had borrowed the phone the evening of the event.

Traffic Arrest: Ladrina E. Robinson, 31, of Chicago, was charged with driving on a suspended license Dec. 7 after a routine police check. She also was charged with not having insurance after the stop, which took place in the 7900 block of North Avenue.

Traffic Arrest: Timi G. Ward, 40, of Chicago, was charged with driving on a suspended license, driving without insurance and improper use of registration Dec. 6 after a random check revealed that the plate on his car was supposed to be on an another auto, police said. He was apprehended in the 700 block of Harlem Avenue. 

Burglary from Auto: A radar detector was stolen Dec. 5 from a 2012 Volkswagen GTI parked in the 7400 block of Augusta Street. Entry was gained by smashing the passenger front window. Estimated loss was $500.

Traffic Arrest: Nejette D. Roberts, 24, of Chicago, was charged with driving on a suspended license Dec. 5 after a random check found that the car's registration had been suspended for insurance violations, police said. She was apprehended in the area of Chicago Avenue and William Street.
