River Forest Police Blotter: Driver Busted For Speeding Near Lincoln School

Hygiene products swiped, traffic arrests and more.

The following items are taken from the River Forest daily summary reports. In all incidents where an arrest occurred, a charge is merely an accusation and not evidence of guilt. The arrested person is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.

Domestic Battery: Robert Allen, 46, of River Forest, was charged Sept. 12 with domestic battery, police said. The arrest took place in the 1300 block of Ashland Avenue.

Criminal Damage: Tires were slashed on a 2004 Honda Pilot parked in the 700 block of Monroe Avenue on Sept. 11.

Traffic Arrest: Alberto Maldonado, 30 of Chicago, was charged Sept. 11 with driving without a license, driving without insurance and speeding, police said. Maldonado was driving west in the 7900 block of North Avenue going 64 miles an hour in a 30 mile-an-hour zone. He was eventually apprehended several blocks away River Grove, police said.

Theft: A wallet containing credit cards was taken Sept. 10 from inside a shopping cart at , 7858 Lake St. One of the credit cards was used at a local gas station eight minutes before the customer realized the wallet was missing, police said.

Traffic Arrest: Cheryl T. Clark, 46 of Oak Park, was charged Sept. 9 with driving on a suspended license after a traffic stop at First and Chicago Avenues, police said.

Retail Theft: Valerie D. Starks, 46, of Chicago, was charged Sept. 8 with retail theft after attempting to take $173.45 worth of personal hygiene products from , 7525 Lake St., police said.

Traffic Arrest: Eboni A. Weeks, 23, of Broadview, was charged Sept. 8 with driving without a valid license after a traffic stop in the area of Lathrop Avenue and Lake Street, police said.

Traffic Arrest: Josh Nickels, 26, of Forest Park, was charged Sept. 7 with driving on a suspended license after his Chevrolet Cavalier struck another vehicle in the parking lot at Jewel-Osco, police said.

Traffic Arrest: Yunus Arslan, 20, of Elmwood Park, was charged Sept. 7 with speeding in a school zone, reckless driving and failing to use a turn signal, police said. Police said he was driving west in the 7700 block of Lake Street going in excess of 55 miles an hour, near , 511 Park Ave., at 1:54 pm. Police said students and adults were in the area at the time. He was eventually apprehended in the 500 block of Forest Avenue.

Traffic Arrest: Terika Hayslett, 25, of Chicago, was charged Sept. 7 with driving on a suspended license and without insurance after a traffic stop in the 6900 block of North Avenue, police said.

Traffic Arrest: Edwin S. Togba, 28, of Chicago, was charged Sept. 6 with driving on a suspended license after a traffic stop in the area of Marion Street and Augusta Avenue in Oak Park, police said.
