River Forest Police Blotter: Flowers Bought with Stolen Gift Card

Bike thieves arrested, laptop taken from Dominican Library.

The following items are taken from the River Forest daily summary reports. In all incidents where an arrest occurred, a charge is merely an accusation and not evidence of guilt. The arrested person is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.

Criminal Damage: The driver’s side door on a 2007 Saturn Ion parked in the 7400 block of Augusta Street was keyed Aug. 21. There was no estimate on the damage.

Burglary: A bicycle was stolen sometime between Aug. 19 and Aug. 21 from an unlocked garage in the rear of a home in the 500 block of Monroe Avenue.

Traffic Arrest: Juan Ochoa, 26, of Maywood, was charged Aug. 20 with driving on a suspended license, driving too fast for conditions and failing to reduce speed to avoid an accident after causing a fender-bender in the 7800 block of Madison Street, police said.

DUI Arrest: David A. Baime, 50, of Oak Park, was charged Aug. 20 with drunk driving, improper lane usage, driving without a license in his possession and operating an uninsured vehicle after a traffic stop in the area of Randolph Street and Rockford Avenue in Forest Park, police said.

Theft: Two Maywood youths – one 12, the other 10 – were charged Aug. 19 with theft after taking two bicycles from , 400 Keystone Ave., during the Clear Sky Festival, police said. In all three bicycles were stolen, two have been recovered.

Theft: A wallet containing $100, a driver’s license, credit cards and miscellaneous identification cards were taken Aug. 18 from a customer at , 7349 Lake St.

Traffic Arrest: James Barker, 35, of Richton Park, was charged Aug. 18 with felony driving on a revoked license after his car was pulled over in the 7900 block of Lake Street for having tinted windows, police said.

Warrant Arrest: Juan Duke, 40, of Oak Park, was arrested Aug. 18 on an outstanding warrant from Oak Park for domestic battery, police said.

Forgery: Sean Lewis, 25, of Elmwood Park, was charged Aug. 17 with forgery and possession of a stolen credit card for an incident that took place earlier this month at North Avenue Shell, 7201 W. North Ave., police said.

Traffic Arrest: A 16-year-old River Forest resident was charged Aug. 16 for driving on a license invalidated because he was out after curfew, speeding and having alcohol in his system, police said. The teenager was stopped in the 7800 block of Greenfield Street.

Deceptive Practices: Schaneen Charleston, 29, of Chicago, was charged Aug. 15 with deceptive practices after she attempted to use stolen debit gift card to buy $600 worth of gift cards, flowers and magazines from , 7525 Lake St., police said.

Traffic Arrest: Levi Stubblefield, 34, of Cicero was charged Aug. 15 with driving on a revoked license and not having a 6-year-old in child safety restraints after a traffic stop in the 7200 block of Lake Street, police said.

Theft: An unattended laptop was taken Aug. 15 from the library at , 7900 Division St. Estimated loss was under $500.
