River Forest Police Blotter: GPS Devices Lose Their Way, Tailpipe Smoke Bombed

Loads of traffic arrests and more.

The following items are taken from River Forest Police Department daily summary reports. In all incidents where an arrest occurred, a charge is merely an accusation and not evidence of guilt. The arrested person is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.

Traffic Arrest: Rosaura Herrera-Cano, 30, of Chicago, was charged with driving without a valid license and insurance and for not having four children in proper safety restraints after an April 24 traffic stop in the area of Iowa Street and Harlem Avenue, police said.

Theft: A men’s bike valued at $300 was reported stolen April 23 after someone forced open the rear access door of a building in the 1500 block of Monroe Avenue.

Traffic Arrest: Arnettra Barber Burnside, 43, of Maywood, was charged with driving on a suspended license after an April 23 traffic stop in the 7700 block of Madison Street, police said.

Criminal Damage: A smoke bomb was put into the tailpipe of a Honda Accord parked in the 7300 block of Holley Court. The incident was reported on April 23. There was no damage.

Traffic Arrest: Erica Hood, 27, of Chicago was charged with driving on a suspended license and on suspended registration and for not having a child in proper safety restraints after an April 23 traffic stop in the area of Division Street and Forest Avenue, police said.

Traffic Arrest: Jermaine Warren, 24, of Chicago, was charged April 22 with driving without a valid license and having excessively tinted front windows, police said. The arrest took place in the area of North Avenue and Woodbine Avenue in Oak Park.

Traffic Arrest: Riley Mockler, 37, of Elmwood Park, was charged April 22 with hit-and-run driving, drunken driving and other violations after a traffic accident in the area of Lathrop Avenue and Lake Street, police said.

Criminal Damage: The rear door handle of a 2010 Cadillac Escalade parked in the rear of a building in the 7200 block of Oak Avenue was reported damaged April 21.

Traffic Arrest: Patricia Reyes, 41, of Stickney, was charged with driving on a suspended license and suspended registration after an April 20 traffic stop in the area of Lathrop and North avenues, police said.

Traffic Arrest: Christian Buie, 19, of Round Lake, was charged April 20 with driving on a suspended license and speeding in the area of Thatcher and Chicago avenues, police said.

Traffic Arrest: Sandra Hernandez, 39, of Chicago, was charged with driving without a valid license and no rear plate light after an April 19 traffic stop in the 7300 block of North Avenue, police said.

Traffic Arrest: Lucie Jean Crigier, 57, of Broadview, was charged with driving on a suspended license, driving an uninsured vehicle and a car with an expired registration, police said. The arrest took place after an April 19 traffic stop in the area of Chicago Avenue and Jackson Street.

Traffic Arrest: Ricardo Najera, 23, of Chicago, was charged April 19 with driving on a suspended license and suspended automobile registration and driving without headlights in the area of Chicago Avenue and Jackson Street, police said.

Criminal Damage: The picture window in the rear of a home in the 7300 block of Greenfield Street was reported broken April 19.

Car Burglary: A GPS navigation unit was reported stolen on April 18 when the front passenger window was broken on a 2010 Honda CRV parked in the 1500 block of Ashland Avenue.

Car Burglary: A GPS navigation device was reported stolen on April 18 from the console of a Toyota Yaris parked in a lot in the 7200 block of Oak Avenue. Police speculate the automobile may have been unlocked.

Car Burglary: An iPod and a digital camera were reported stolen on April 18 from a Mazda parked in the lot outside a building in the 7200 block of Oak Avenue. Police speculate the automobile was unlocked. Estimated loss was $660.

Traffic Arrest: Cardale Johnson, 44, of Chicago, was charged with driving on a suspended license, driving without insurance and improper lane usage after an April 18 traffic stop in the 1200 block of North Harlem Avenue, police said.

Auto Theft: A 1994 Honda Accord parked in the 7500 block of Berkshire Street was reported stolen on April 18.

Traffic Arrest: Wilson Castellanos-Cifuentes, 29, of Chicago, was charged with driving on a revoked license after an April 18 traffic stop in the 7000 block of North Avenue, police said.
