River Forest Police Blotter: Heroin Bust Outside of Jewel

Woman arrested with baby in arms, traffic arrests and more.

The following items are taken from the River Forest daily summary reports. In all incidents where an arrest occurred, a charge is merely an accusation and not evidence of guilt. The arrested person is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.

Criminal Damage: A home in the 600 block of Forest Avenue was egged Aug. 13.

Aggravated Assault: Ruby Malave, 33, of River Forest was charged Aug. 13 with aggravated assault and endangering the life of a child after threatening a man with a knife while holding her 2-year-old son in her arms, police said.  The incident took place in the 1400 block of Harlem Avenue.

Traffic Arrest: Kyle L. Taylor, 22, of Chicago was charged Aug. 12 with driving on a suspended license following a traffic stop in the area of Park Avenue and Madison Street, police said.

Traffic Arrest: Kristopher C. Jones, 18, of Maywood was charged Aug. 11 with driving without a valid license following a traffic stop at Madison Street and First Avenue, police said.

Traffic Arrest: Demetrius Cullum, 22, of Chicago was charged Aug. 10 with driving without a valid license after a traffic stop in the area of Madison Street and Franklin Avenue, police said. His passenger, Charne E. Ware, 21, also of Chicago, was arrested on an outstanding warrant out of Will County for failing to appear in court on a charge of retail theft, police said.

Warrant Arrest: Lottie Harris, 28 of Chicago, was arrested on an outstanding warrant for forgery out of South Holland, police said.  Harris was apprehended while attempting to sell cookies outside of Walgreens, 7251 Lake St., without a valid permit, police said.

Drug Possession: Dolly Maldonado, 26, of Chicago was charged Aug. 9 with possession of a controlled substance, police said.  Authorities said Maldonado and a male companion may have been in the process of taking a shopping cart loaded with 35 cases of Red Bull and other items out of , 7525 Lake St., until she noticed that River Forest police and store security were watching their activities, authorities said. The shopping cart was left in the store and the pair was questioned in the store parking lot. During an investigation, authorities found in her possession five small bags of a white powdery substance, which field tested positive to be heroin, police said. Her male companion, also from Chicago, was not charged, police said.

Traffic Arrest: Timothy Davis, 63, of Chicago was charged Aug. 9 with driving on a suspended license after a traffic stop in the area of Randolph Street and Rockford Avenue in Forest Park, police said.

Traffic Arrest: Miriam Guerrero, 28, of Chicago was charged Aug. 8 with driving on a suspended license after a traffic stop in the area of 75th Avenue and North Avenue in Elmwood Park, police said.
