River Forest Police Blotter: High "Steaks" Arrest

DUIs, other traffic arrests and more.

The following items are taken from River Forest Police Department daily summary reports. In all incidents where an arrest occurred, a charge is merely an accusation and not evidence of guilt. The arrested person is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.

DUI Charge: Kevin Lane, 56, of River Forest, charged with drunken driving, driving without a license, speeding and disobeying a stop sign after a May 9 traffic stop in the area of Lathrop Avenue and Berkshire Street, police said.

Garage Burglary: A road bike valued at $1,200 was stolen May 8 from an unlocked garage outside a home in the 1100 block of Keystone Avenue.

Theft: A television valued at $590 was stolen May 8 from a basement apartment in the 8200 block of Lake Street.

Retail Theft: Dwayne Smith, 51, of Chicago, was charged with felony theft May 7 after trying to steal eight steaks valued at $98.97 from, 7525 W. Lake Street, police said. Smith had a prior conviction for retail theft in 2010, police added.

DUI Charge: Elvira Delgado Garcia, 27, of Chicago, was charged with drunken driving, resisting arrest and driving without insurance after a May 6 traffic stop in the area of Lathrop and Chicago avenues, police said.

DUI Charge: Feliciano Popoca, 43, of Stone Park, was charged with drunk driving, driving on a revoked license, disobeying a traffic sign and driving without insurance after a May 5 stop in the area of Oak Street and Harlem Avenue, police said. Popoca had two outstanding arrest warrants for drunk driving, one dating back to 2000 and another to 1999, police said.

Traffic Arrest: Juan Macedo, 29, of Melrose Park, was charged with driving without a valid license after a May 4 traffic stop in the area of Madison Street and Thatcher Avenue, police said.

Theft: Two decorative cements flower pots valued at $400 were stolen May 3 from the front of a home in the 600 block of Lathrop Avenue.

Theft: A iPod Touch and headphones were stolen May 3 from an unlocked and unattended dormitory room at , 7400 Augusta St.

Criminal Damage: The rear window of a home in the 800 block of Keystone Avenue was shot out with BB gun.

Traffic Arrest: Ralph Luke III, 35, of Lombard, was charged with driving on a suspended license, driving without insurance and on an expired registration after a May 2 traffic stop in the area of Gale Avenue and Washington Boulevard, police said.

Traffic Arrest: Ismael Miti, 38, of was charged with driving on a suspended license, driving without insurance and on an expired registration after a May 2 traffic stop in the 500 block of North Harlem Avenue, police said.

Traffic Arrest: Dwayne Anderson, 50, of Chicago was charged with driving on a revoked license after a May 2 traffic stop in the 500 block of North Harlem Avenue, police said.
