River Forest Police Blotter: Homes and Vehicles Burgled

Two deer struck and killed by vehicles on Thatcher.

The following items are taken from daily summary reports. In all incidents where an arrest occurs, a charge is merely an accusation and not evidence of guilt. The arrested person is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.

Theft: Michael A. Cory, 49, 3239 N. Narraganset Ave. in Chicago, was charged with theft after he was observed in possession of stolen goods at the garage, 7810 Lake St., on Saturday, Feb. 20, police said.

Criminal Damage:
The dashboard radio of a vehicle parked in the 7200 block of Lake Street was tampered with after a theft attempt on Saturday, Feb. 20.

Burglary:
Three televisions, a stereo, a rear camera system and GPS navigation unit valued at a combined $1,050 were stolen from a vehicle parked in the 7200 block of Central Avenue on Saturday, Feb. 20.

Disorderly Conduct:
A “wild party” involving minors, drinking and possibly marijuana at a residence Bonnie Brae Place and Thomas Street was shut down in the early hours of Saturday, Feb. 20, leaving two juveniles with disorderly conduct citations.

Deceptive Practice:
A customer at , 7525 Lake St., used a counterfeit $20 bill to purchase a two-liter bottle of Canada Dry ginger ale on Friday, Feb. 18.

Residential Burglary:
A resident in the 800 block of Bonnie Brae Place returned home after 10 days to find the place tampered with and several items missing on Thursday, Feb. 17. Total loss unknown.

Criminal Damage:
A handful of juveniles were given tickets for disorderly conduct and underage drinking after they were caught breaking the lights to a home near the intersection of Keystone Avenue and Chicago Avenue on Wednesday, Feb. 16.

Burglary:
A GPS navigation unit was stolen from a vehicle parked in the 500 block of Edgewood Place on Thursday, Feb. 16 after that and another vehicle were ransacked. Loss estimated at $200.

Burglary:
A GPS unit valued at $150 was stolen from a vehicle parked in the 1500 block of Harlem Avenue on Wednesday, Feb. 16. The vehicle had its front passenger side window smashed prior to entry.

Marijuana Possession:
Donnie Henderson, 39, of 5253 S. Paulina St. in Chicago, was charged with possession of marijuana at the intersection of Keystone Avenue and Madison Street on Wednesday, Feb. 16, police said.

Injured Animal:
A deer was struck by a vehicle and killed near the intersection of Division Street and Thatcher Avenue on Wednesday, Feb. 16.

Injured Animal:
A deer was struck by a vehicle and killed at Thatcher Avenue and Chicago Avenue struck on Tuesday, Feb. 15.

Deceptive Practice:
A customer at Jewel Food Store, 7525 Lake St., reported charges were made to her credit card without permission, including a $411.90 charge, on Tuesday, Feb. 15.

Robbery:
A Nokia cell phone was stolen from a victim at the intersection of Park Avenue and Greenfield Street on Tuesday, Feb. 15. No gun or knife was identified by the victim.

Motor Vehicle Theft:
A tan 2001 Toyota Sienna parked in a garage in the 900 block of Park Avenue was stolen on Feb. 14. Loss unknown.
