River Forest Police Blotter: More Crimes at Concordia

The following information was supplied by the River Forest Police Department. Where arrests or charges are mentioned, it does not indicate a conviction.

DUI Arrest: Raymond Lee Collins, 24, of Chicago, was charged with drunken May 12 after an officer on patrol pulled him over north of Lathrop and Central avenues for blowing two stop signs, police said. He also was charged with driving on a suspended license and reckless driving.

Criminal Damage: Thirteen sections of composite plastic fencing were broken at the Fenwick High School softball fields on May 14. Estimated damage was $1,430.

Theft: More than $100 in change was taken May 15 when two vending machines at the Keystone Park field house were pried open. Damage estimate to the machines was $400.

Theft: A unlocked and unattended 21-speed bicycle was stolen May 16 from Keystone Park, 400 Keystone Ave. Estimated loss was $400.

Burglary: A bag containing a laptop was stolen May 17 from the rear seat of an unlocked Ford Taurus parked in the garage at Concordia University, 7400 Augusta St. This is another in a series of that have taken place in the garage in several months. Estimated loss was $550.

Warrant Arrest: Lamise N. Jones, 26, of Villa Park, was arrested May 17 on an outstanding warrant out of DuPage County for contempt of court, police said. Jones was apprehended after he was pulled over at Washington and Forest for having expired registration plates. Jones was unable to post bond and was held overnight pending arrival of the DuPage County Sheriff's Department.

Theft: A briefcase containing a cellphone and other items was stolen May 18 from an unlocked employee locker at Koenecke Community Center at Concordia University, 7400 Augusta St. This is yet another at the school, which has experienced such incidents over the last several months.

Retail Theft Arrest: Jeril U. Bush, 39, of Broadview, was charged with felony retail theft May 19 after he stole nine packages of batteries from Jewel-Osco, 7525 Lake St., police said. An employee saw the theft and called police, who saw a man matching his description in the 400 block of William Avenue and detained him, police said.
