River Forest Police Blotter: Of Road Rage and Sugar

Police also disrupt teens at Jackson Avenue booze-fueled house party.

The following items are taken from  daily summary reports. In all incidents where an arrest occurs, a charge is merely an accusation and not evidence of guilt. The arrested person is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.

Bike Theft:
A men's red mountain bike was stolen from the 7200 block of Lake Street after someone was spotted cutting the bike's lock on Sunday, Feb. 13.

Illegal Consumption: Three teens were charged in connection with a Feb. 13 house party in the 1500 block of Jackson Avenue. The two juveniles throwing the party were cited for hosting an underage drinking party, while another was cited for underage consumption.

DUI Charge:
Juan A. Casas, 24, of 1634 N. 16th Ave. in Melrose Park, was charged with drunken driving and an outstanding warrant out of DuPage County after a Sunday, Feb. 13 traffic stop in the intersection of 78th Avenue and North Avenue, police said.

DUI Charge:
Jose A. Aguirre, 40, of 806 W. Gardner Rd. in Westchester, was charged with drunken driving and other traffic violations after a traffic stop in the 8100 block of Lake Street on Sunday, Feb. 13, police said.

Sick Animal:
A deer was found impaled on a fence in the 1000 block of Ashland Avenue on Saturday, Feb 12. The buck was removed from the fence and hauled away.

Deceptive Practice:
A TCF Bank customer noticed $450 missing from her account on Friday, Feb. 11. The case was filed under deceptive practice and is under investigation.

Criminal Damage:
A large amount of a substance believed to be sugar was funneled into the gas tank of a vehicle parked in the 1500 block of Park Avenue between the dates of Feb. 7 and Wednesday, Feb. 9. Damage estimated at $1022.50.

Battery:
Two motorists were involved in a brief road rage incident which included the passenger of a vehicle being struck with a blue snow brush-ice scraper combo in the intersection of Harlem Avenue and North Avenue on Wednesday, Feb. 9.  No charges were filed.

Theft: A cab passenger ditched his $60 fare on Friday, Feb. 4.

Criminal Damage:
A laptop was destroyed after water was poured on it during a domestic dispute in the 1500 block of Park Avenue on Feb. 7. Loss valued at $549.98.
