River Forest Police Blotter: Thief Drops Loot during Foot Chase with Police

The following information was supplied by the River Forest Police Department. Where arrests or charges are mentioned, it does not indicate a conviction.

Traffic Arrest: Scott S. Dolemba, 49, of Blue Island, was charged with felony driving on a suspended license and driving without insurance March 12 after a traffic stop in the 7800 block of Chicago Avenue for having suspended plates on his car, police said.

Burglary: Five cell phones were stolen March 13 after someone broke the front window of the Verizon Store, 7261 Lake St., took the items and fled in a waiting car.

Retail Theft: Joan A. Kyros, 40, of Chicago, was charged with felony retail theft March 13 after taking over-the-counter medication and baby formula, valued at $305, from Jewel-Osco, 7525 Lake St., police said. After arriving on the scene, officers chased Kyros, who dropped two bags containing the loot along the way, and caught her in the rear of a building in the 400 block of Lathrop Avenue.

Traffic Arrest: Quintashaya E Hunter, 25, of Berwyn, was charged with driving on a suspended license March 13 after officers pulled over her car at Chicago and Lathrop avenues for not having a front license plate, police said. She also was charged with unlawful use of a driver’s license and for not having a front registration.

Traffic Arrest: Jeremy D. Calloway, 21, of Maywood, was charged with driving on a suspended license March 13 after police pulled him over in the 7200 block of Chicago Avenue because his car did not have a front registration plate and a current sticker on the back plate, police said. He also was charged with not having a front registration plate and driving without insurance.

Traffic Arrest: Nancy G. Rodriguez, 29, of Chicago, was charged with driving without a license March 13 after an officer noticed that she failed to turn right onto Thatcher Avenue from the right-turn only lane, police said. She also was charged with improper lane usage and driving without insurance.

Traffic Arrest: John W. Walden, 28, of Chicago, was charged with driving on a suspended license March 14 after he was pulled over in the 7600 block of North Avenue for having only one headlamp. The license was suspended for failing to pay a traffic fine in Pulaski County.

Traffic Arrest: Amanda L. Turner, 29, of Chicago, was charged with driving on a suspended license March 14 after an officer pulled over her car in the 900 block of Thatcher for speeding, police said. She also was charged with speeding, driving on suspended registration and driving without insurance.

Traffic Arrest: Fausto M. Onofre, 23, of River Grove, was charged with driving without a license after an officer saw his car cross double yellow lines and enter a median before turning on to Chicago Avenue from Harlem Avenue, police said. He also was charged with improper lane usage.

Criminal Damage: Gang graffiti was found scrawled in pen March 15 on the lower-level bathroom wall at the Rebecca Crown Library on the campus of Dominican University, 7900 Division St.

Traffic Arrest: Trina L. Simmons, 44, of Bellwood, was charged with driving on a suspended license March 15 after an officer pulled over her car in the 7900 block of Washington Boulevard for not having a front plate, police said. She also was charged with not having a front plate on her car.

Traffic Arrest: Katherine M. Wysocki, 25, of Chicago, was charged with driving without a license March after an officer pulled over her car in the 1200 block of Thatcher Avenue for speeding, police said. She also was charged with speeding and operating a car without insurance, driving without a seatbelt, failing to secure a child under age 8 in a child safety restraint.

Traffic Arrest: Andre Clarence Walker, 30, of Chicago, was charged with driving without a license March 16 after he was pulled over for speeding in the 800 block of Thatcher Avenue, police said. He also was charged with speeding, operating a vehicle without insurance, failing to signal and for driving on a license that was suspended in Virginia.

Warrant Arrest: Marco A. Gomez, 21, of Hoffman Estates, was arrested March 16 on an outstanding warrant out of Rolling Meadows for retail theft, police said. He was pulled over at Lake Street and Bonnie Brae Place for disobeying a posted right turn only sign in order to pass other cars stopped in traffic, police said.

Traffic Arrest: Priscilla M. Bassett, 22, of Chicago, was charged with driving without a license March 16 after an officer spotted a car with one headlamp speeding at Lake and Keystone, police said. She also was charged with speeding, driving with one headlamp and operating a car without insurance.

Aggravated DUI Arrest: Pete Johnson, 59, of Melrose Park, was charged with aggravated drunken driving under after a St. Patrick's Day traffic stop in the 7700 block of North Avenue for crossing over the double-yellow lines, police said. A breathalyzer test revealed his blood alcohol content was almost three times the legal limit, police said. He was also charged with improper lane usage, illegal transport of open liquor and driving on a revoked license.

DUI Charge: Jorge Flores, 26, of Melrose Park, was charged with drunken driving and resisting arrest March 18 after an officer pulled over his car for crossing the double-yellow line in the 7900 block of North Avenue, police said. During a search of the car, officers also discovered a plastic bag with containing 1 gram of cocaine. He also was charged with felony possession of a controlled substance, driving with a blood alcohol content over the legal limit and improper lane usage.
