River Forest Police Blotter: Windows Shot out Overnight

Purse snatched, bike thefts and more.

The following items are taken from the River Forest daily summary reports. In all incidents where an arrest occurred, a charge is merely an accusation and not evidence of guilt. The arrested person is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.

Theft:  Three bicycles were stolen July 17 from off the front porch of a home in the 7200 block of LeMoyne Avenue. Estimated loss was not available.

Theft:  A purse containing $200, credit cards, a passport, plus house and keys to two different cars was stolen July 17 from an unattended shopping cart at , 7245 W. Lake St.

Theft:  A 21-speed bicycle was taken July 15 from the rear yard of a home in the 300 block of Keystone Avenue. There was no estimated loss.

Traffic Arrest:  Jorge Oceguera, 29, of Hillside, was charged July 13 with driving without a valid license and other offenses after a traffic stop in the 1200 block of Harlem Avenue, police said.

Theft:  A pair of gym shoes was stolen July 13 when three youths reached inside a truck parked in the area of Franklin Street and Chicago Avenue and took the shoes.

Criminal Damage:  Three windows were shot out with a BB gun sometime between July 11 and July 12.

  • A window at , 7349 Lake St.
  • The rear window of a 2008 Dodge Caravan parked in the 700 block of Ashland Avenue.
