River Forest Police to Crack Down on Drunk Drivers This Thanksgiving

River Forest police will be out in force, focusing on drunk and unbuckled drivers.

River Forest police will be out in force over the holiday weekend, focusing on drunk and unbuckled drivers as part of a statewide Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over and Click It or Ticket effort, according to a news release from the River Forest Police Department.

“Year in and year out, Thanksgiving is one of the deadliest holidays due to an increase in drunk-driving fatalities,” River Forest Police Chief Gregory Weiss said in a statement. “Too many people die each year due to those who choose to drive after drinking, so our officers will be out in full force this holiday showing zero tolerance for drunk drivers and belt law violators.”
