River Forest Police: We've Busted a Burglar

Early-morning search turns up "suspicious person" suspected of breaking into cars.

Police in River Forest say they've arrested a person suspected of a series of overnight break-ins to cars in the area. Authorities are asking residents to check their vehicles for damage and losses. Here are the details from the police department, issued in an e-mail news alert this morning:

On May 23, 2012 at approximately 6:03 AM, River Forest Police Units responded to the 7900 block of Oak Ave. for the report of a suspicious person in a yard.  That subject fled on foot from responding police units, who set up a permiter in the area, trapping and eventually arresting him. The subject had on his person large amounts of change (coins), and officers located several vehicles that appear to have been burglarized.

The subject is currently being held at the River Forest Police Department.  We are asking for residents in the area bordered by Chicago Avenue in the north, River Oaks in the west, the Union Pacific Railroad tracks in the south and Forest Avenue in the east to check their vehicles to see if a person may have entered and removed change or other items.
