Teen Charged With River Forest Robbery, Assault
Man allegedly told one victim he had a gun, then robbed a second victim shortly after in River Forest. He is being held on $250,000 bail.
An 18-year-old Chicago man faces robbery and aggravated assault charges after he allegedly told a female he had a gun and grabbed another female and stole her iPhone in River Forest Thursday night, River Forest police said Monday.
Police responded to a call about a "man with a gun" in the 1000 block of North Harlem Avenue about 7:20 p.m. Nov. 14, after a female victim reported a man approached her near Thomas Street and told her he had a gun, according to a news release from the River Forest Police Department.

While searching the area, a second victim told police a man who with the same description ran up behind her, grabbed her arm and stole her iPhone and ran to a car that was waiting for him, police said.
Police tracked the stolen phone to "several areas" on Chicago's west side and were able to recover it Nov. 15, during a traffic stop in the 5000 block of West North Avenue in Chicago.

Police arrested and charged David Barnett in connection to both incidents. He is charged with felony robbery and aggravated assault. No weapon was recovered during the investigation, police said.
He is being held in Cook County Jail on $250,000 bail. He is scheduled to appear in court on Tuesday, Nov. 19 in Maywood.
