Semi-Automatics Used in Two Oak Park Armed Robberies
Assailants struck at two different times on Tuesday.
Authorities in Oak Park are reaching out to Chicago police to help investigate a pair of armed robberies that took place in nearly the same area of northeast Oak Park on Tuesday.
The first incident occurred around 1:15 a.m., when police said a man riding his bicycle in the 1500 block of North Austin Boulevard was approached by two men.

One of the men displayed a semi-automatic handgun and demanded the victim's bicycle, cell phone and wallet. The second suspect grabbed the bicycle and rode away. Both of the attackers ran west in an alley behind North Avenue, the victim told police. Estimated loss was $265.
The second attack took place 5 p.m. Tuesday in the 0-100 block of LeMoyne Parkway, where police said a man was approached by as many as three other male attackers — one aimed a semi-automatic handgun at the victim, another "pointed a sharp object" at him and a third swiped the cash from his wallet, then threw the wallet in his face.

The loss was estimated at more than $300.
The gun-toting attacker ran way north on Austin Boulevard. The other two ran in an unknown direction.
