Fireworks Thrown at Religious Flyers: Isn't That More than Illegal?

Someone threw fireworks at a wooden box containing religious flyers at River Forest Bible Church, 946 Harlem Ave. on Sept. 21. The box sustained irreparable damage, police said.

Shrink's Ex-Wife Self-Medicates—Literally

Police are investigating a Sept. 23 report that an ex-wife of an Oak Park psychiatrist fraudulently filled out prescriptions for herself and picked up medications for herself at multiple pharmacies in the area, including CVS Pharmacy, 7929 North Ave. in River Forest. The ex-husband learned of the fraudulent use of prescriptions when he was alerted by the Prescription Monitoring Program, police said.

Drama at McDonald's

An Oak Park resident reported his former neighbor pushed and threatened him after he denied having relations with the man's wife at McDonald's, 624 Harlem Ave. on Monday.


Squirrel Hit by Car
Someone reported a squirrel was hit by a car and possibly injured about 3:10 p.m. Sept. 23 near the intersection of Brainard and Cossitt avenues.


DUI: Man Going 74 in 30 MPH Zone Had 'Maybe 4 Beers'
Police charged Anthony Vroutsis, 51, of Glendale Heights, with driving under the influence of alcohol and going 74 in a 30 mph zone about 2 a.m. near the intersection of La Grange Road and 31st Street. 

Vroutsis told police he had “maybe four” beers that night and that he was on his way home to Glendale Heights. He was given an Oct. 23 court date and released on bond.
