Stolen Car Found in Maywood, More Copper Stolen: Police Blotter

Oak Park area police reports, Feb. 23-25.

MONDAY, FEB. 25

Car Stolen

A 2011 Nissan Maxima was stolen at about 9:47 a.m. in the 200 block of Home. The car left running with unlocked doors when it was taken. Maywood police later recovered the car but didn't locate offenders.

Copper Downspouts Taken

Two men fled on foot after stealing a 20-foot section of a copper downspout from a home in the 1100 block of S. East at 9:58 a.m. Both men were described to be in the 20s, about 5-foot-10 and with a thin build, but no further description was available. The offenders fled southbound in an alley. The estimated loss is unknown.

Windshield Broken

Someone broke the rear windshield on a Corvette parked in the 0-100 block of Madison sometime between 6 p.m. Feb. 22 and 7:30 a.m. Feb. 25. The estimated loss is $500.

Hit and Run

Linda F. Holliman, 58, of the 1400 block of Austin in Chicago, was charged with leaving the scene of an accident, speeding, driving with a suspended license and driving without insurance. Police said she hit another car at 6:55 a.m. in the 1500 block of Austin. She was released after posting bond.

SUNDAY, FEB. 24

Beer Stolen From Car

Someone stole a 24-pack of beer from a car in the 1000 block of North Austin after breaking the passenger's window sometime between 5:30 p.m. Feb. 24 and 7 a.m. Feb. 25. 

SATURDAY, FEB. 23

Robbery Suspect Arrested

Jessica Medrano, 21, of Calumet City, was charged with robbery for an incident that occurred on Feb. 15. Police responded to the 100 block of Madison in reference to a report from a juvenile Cicero resident. Medranowas held for bond hearings. 

Tires Taken From Garage

Four tires and four rims were stolen from a garage in the 0-100 block of N. Austin after a thief entered by using an electronic garage door opener. The estimated loss is $900.
