Student Pushed Over OPRF Railing After Bullying Incident

Police charged an Oak Park juvenile with aggravated battery after an incident at Oak Park and River Forest High School on Tuesday, Oct. 22.

As a response to bullying, the student pushed another student over the railing of the school's main staircase, OPRF Spokesperson Karin Sullivan said Monday.

The student who fell sustained minor leg and rib injuries.

She said OPRF Principal Nathaniel Rouse sent an email to staff to disclose what he could about the incident.

"Consequences have been issued" to the student who was charged with aggravated battery, she said.
