Donovan A. Bray, 20, of Oak Park was arrested on an active warrant out of Winnebago County for violation of probation for criminal aggravated sexual assault, police said. He was apprehended after a traffic stop in the 0-100 block of Harrison Street.
A package containing three piggy banks was taken from the front porch of a home in the 300 block of Home Avenue. Estimated loss was $51.
WEDNESDAY, DEC. 26
Alonzo Woods, 49, of Chicago was charged with retail theft and battery after a security guard at Dominick's Finer Foods, 259 Lake St., tried to stop him from running off with $32.93 worth of bath products, police said. Police said the guard saw Woods put two bottles of liquid soap, a six-pack of bar soap and two sticks of deodorant in his jacket and leave the store. In trying to stop Woods from running off, a struggle ensued; the guard sustained a scratch on his neck and bruises on his hand, said police, who found the two on the ground in front of the store when they arrived on the scene.

Burglary from Auto
A designer purse containing a designer wallet, $100, a credit card and a driver's license was stolen from a 2000 Oldsmobile Alero parked in the 00 block of Chicago Avenue. Estimated loss was $350.
