Underage Drinking Reported in River Forest, Man Steals From Girl: Police

MONDAY, SEPTEMBER 23

River Forest Teen Ditches Bike, Runs From Cop

Police issued a local ordinance citation for underage drinking to James Henry, 18, of River Forest in the 1200 block of Ashland Avenue. He was arrested after he ditched the bike and tried to run from an officer who stopped him for riding his bike without proper lighting about 2:45 a.m.

Teen Runs From Cop

Police issued a local ordinance citation for underage drinking to Chance Emlund, 19, of Chicago. Police said when an officer approached Emlund, who appeared to be drunk, he ran north on Lathrop Avenue from Lake Street. He was found hiding in a yard in the 500 block of Lathrop Avenue and arrested about 1:40 a.m.

WEDNESDAY, SEPTEMBER 25

Man Who Grabbed Woman's Arm Arrested for Battery

Police charged Charles Stade, 84, of the 400 block of South Maple Avenue in Oak Park, with battery after he grabbed a 29-year-old Oak Park woman's arm and started pulling her outside their condo building about 7:40 p.m. He was released on bond.

TUESDAY, SEPTEMBER 24

Man Asks for Time, Steals Girl's Tablet

A man with short black hair and uneven teeth stole an Oak Park girl's tablet after he approached her from behind and asked for the time in the 400 block of North Austin Boulevard. Police said the man, who looked about 17 or 18 and was wearing a gray jacket and jeans, took the tablet when she pulled it out to look at the time about 4 p.m. The total estimated loss is $150, police said. 

Kid Arrested for Starting Fight on School Bus

An Oak Park juvenile was arrested for battery after he started a fight with another student on a school bus about 8:40 a.m. in the 900 block of South Boulevard. He was referred to juvenile court and held at the station for his parents.
