DUI

Police charged Tory Johnson, 26, of the 1000 block of Chicago Avenue in Oak Park, with driving under the influence of alcohol. She was charged around 8:15 a.m. in the 400 block of South Kenilworth Avenue, processed and released on bond. 

Trespassing Arrest at McDonald's

Police charged Janet Robinson, 53, of Chicago, with trespassing at McDonald's in the 100 block of Madison Street. She was arrested around 6:40 p.m. and held for bond hearings. 

Saturday, December 21

Break-in on Kenilworth

Someone broke a window to enter a garage in the 900 block of South Kenilworth Avenue and stole a bike and a Bosch sander between noon Dec. 17 and 2 p.m. Dec. 21. The total estimated loss is $700, police said. 

Break-in on Taylor

Someone broke a window to enter a basement in the 800 block of South Taylor Street and forced open a door to get to the first floor between 11:30 a.m. Dec. 17 and 11 a.m. Dec. 21. No loss reported. 

Friday, December 20

Disorderly Conduct

Police charged a female juvenile from Oak Park with disorderly conduct in the 300 block of South Kenilworth Avenue around 10 a.m. 

Package Stolen

Someone stole a UPS package containing boots from the lobby of a building in the 600 block of Harrison Street between 2 p.m. Dec. 19 and around 9 a.m. Dec. 20. The total estimated loss is $142, police said. 

Home Ransacked

Someone ransacked two bedrooms and an office of an unlocked home in the 500 block of Wesley Avenue between 6 a.m. and 6:10 p.m. No loss reported. 

Package Stolen

Someone stole a package containing tools and accessories from the lobby of an apartment building in the 500 block of South Cuyler Avenue between 11 a.m. and 6:30 p.m. The total estimated loss is $901, police said. 

Window Shattered

Someone shattered the rear window of a white 2000 Nissan parked in the 7000 block of West North Avenue between 6 and 9:30 p.m. The total estimated loss is $250, police said. 

$11,000 in Damage to Car at Volvo Dealer

Someone damaged the interior and exterior of a Volvo at the Volvo dealership in the 1100 block of Garfield Street between 2 p.m. Dec. 6 and 10 a.m. Dec. 20. The total estimated loss due to damage is $11,000, police said. 

2 Charged With Stealing Mail Packages in Oak Park

Police charged Chanel Mattox, 21 and a male juvenile, both from Chicago, with five counts of theft of mail packages in the 800 block of Linden Avenue, the 900 and 1000 blocks of North Elmwood Avenue and the 1100 block of North Euclid Avenue. 

Thursday, December 19 

Man Tries to Steal Walgreen's Batteries

A man put several packages of batteries in his backpack at Walgreen's around 10:50 p.m., then dropped everything when a store employee confronted him.
