Woman Assaults Officer After Teen Drinking Party

Oak Park police reports, March 16-17.

SUNDAY, MARCH 17

DUI Charge

Murphy D. Doss, 39, of the 2700 block of W. Flournoy in Chicago, was charged with driving under the influence after a traffic stop at 1:15 a.m. in the 900 block of Madison Street. 

Window Smashed

Someone used a flower pot to break a window at the main entrance of a building in the 200 block of N. Kenilworth. The estimated damage is $2,000. It occurred between 9:30 p.m. March 16 and 7:15 a.m. March 17.

IHOP Window Broken

Trae J. Washington, 21, of the 400 block of N. Traft in Hillside, was charged with property damage after being identified as someone who broke a window to IHOP in the 6500 block of W. North. He was released after posting bond.

Aggravated Assault

Gyasi A. Kress, 32, of the 900 block of S. Cuyler in Oak Park, was charged with aggravated assault and property damage following an incident in the same block. He had an arugment with another person, breaking a window and hitting them in the face, police said. The victim did not require medical treatment. Kress was given a March 20 court date.

SATURDAY, MARCH 16

Suspended License for DUI

Justin A. Harris, 31, of the 3700 block of Van Buren in Bellwood, was charged with driving with a revoked license after a traffic stop for speeding. The license had been revoked because of a prior DUI conviction.

DUI Charges

DeAndrea R. Nesbitt, 23, of the 9900 block of S. Sangamon in Chicago, was charged with driving under the influence after a traffic stop at 2:55 a.m. in the 900 block of Madison Street. She was also charged with driving without a valid license or insurance, reckless driving and improper lane usage. 

John M. Dengel, 22, of the 200 block of N. Elmwood in Oak Park, was charged with driving under the influence of alcohol. Police said he was found seated in his car, which was parked in the middle of the road at 3:15 a.m. in the 700 block of S. Elmwood. He was released on bond.

Garage Burglary

A garage in the 1000 block of S. Scoville was burglarized after someone entered an unlocked door and stole three office chairs, a Milwaukee Sawzall and a ladder. The estimated loss was $800.

Teen Drinking Party

Police responded to a call about a teen party in the 600 block of Kenilworth at 9:32 p.m. Mary R. Puls, 18, of the 600 block of Kenilworth, was charged with social hosting for having a party at which minors were drinking, police said.

Following that arrest, Darlene M. Mignacco, 58, of the same block, was charged with battery, resisting a peace officer and obstructing a police officer after she didn't follow police orders to stay back from the area. Police said it wasn't clear whether Mignacco was at the party or was in the area during the arrests.
