Woman Robbed on Jackson, iHop Burglary: Police Blotter

Oak Park police reports, Aug. 20-21

THURSDAY, AUGUST 22

DUI

Oak Park police charged Pamela Brown, 53, of the 100 block of Elgin Avenue in Forest Park with driving under the influence of alcohol. She was arrested in the 400 block of South Boulevard about 10:30 p.m., processed and released on bond. 

WEDNESDAY, AUGUST 21

Woman Robbed on Jackson

A man wearing a light blue shirt and a dark baseball cap approached a woman from behind in the 900 block of Jackson Boulevard and took her purse around 10:50 a.m. The total estimated loss is $270, police said. 

iHop Burglary

Someone broke the glass double doors at iHop, 6501 North Ave. and stole $150 from the cash register and a cash box between 1 and 6:20 a.m. The current known loss is $150, police said.

Games Stolen

Someone stole six game cartridges from a bedroom closet in the 600 block of South Humphrey Avenue between 7:45 a.m. Aug. 19 and 6:30 a.m. Aug. 21. The total estimated loss is $240, police said. 

Jewelry Stolen

Someone stole a eight rings from a home in the 1000 block of South Cuyler Avenue between 8 a.m. Aug. 15 and 7 a.m. Aug. 21. The total estimated loss is $420, police said. 

Theft Attempt

A woman wearing yoga pants and a white tank tried to steal a cash box from a business in the 1500 block of North Harlem Avenue between about 2:30 and 3 p.m. She left when the attempt was unsuccesful, police said. 

$10,000 Bond for Trespassing Warrant

Police charged John Morgan, 31, of Chicago, with a warrant for trespassing. He was arrested about 10 a.m. in St. Charles and held on $10,000 bond, police said. 

Money Stolen From Desk Drawer

Someone stole $70 from an unlocked desk drawer in the 1500 block of North Harlem Avenue between 2:30 and 2:45 p.m. 

Bike Thefts

  • Someone stole a $100 men's bike from an unlocked laundry room in the 400 block of South Oak Park Avenue between 8 a.m. May 1 and 1 p.m. Aug. 21. 
  • A boy in an orange t-shirt stole a bike that was left on the sidewalk in the 1000 block of North Ridgeland Avenue around 8 p.m. The total estimated loss is $109, police said. 

Battery Arrest

Police charged Michael Barnett, 48, with battery about 10:30 p.m. He was arrested in the 400 block of South Maple Avenue and held on bond. 

TUESDAY, AUGUST 20

Laptop, iPhone Stolen in Burglary

Someone broke into a home in the 500 block of South Cuyler Avenue through an unlocked basement door and stole a laptop and an iPhone between 8 a.m. and 1:50 p.m. The total estimated loss is $1,400, police said. 

Bike, Camera, Tools Stolen in Burglary

Someone stole a girl's bike, a Canon camera, a laser range finder and a Swiss Army multi-tool kit from an unlocked garage in the 100 block of South Elmwood Avenue between 10:30 a.m. and 12:30 p.m. The total estimated loss is $680, police said.
