Snow Parking Rules in Effects

With 7-10 inches of snow expected to fall throughout the day, area villages are reminding residents to clear cars off the streets in snow routes.

"Cars parked on the street prevent village crews from efficiently and effectively clearing snow and present a safety hazard to village crews as well as other drivers," according to a River Forest news release.

Oak Park

Emergency parking rules are in effect, and main streets designated as snow routes must be cleared of all parked cars. Parking is allowed on non-snow route streets between 8 a.m. and 10 p.m. on the even address sides (east and north) on even-numbered days. It's allowed on odd address sides (west and south) on odd-numbered days.

Snow parking regulations do not apply from 10 p.m. to 8 a.m. on residential side streets. For more information, call 708-358-7669.

Forest Park

Snow routes are in effect, and cars in violation of them will be towed. Snow routes are marked where light poles are located.

River Forest

Current snow removal regulations prohibit the following:

  • Parking on all streets and alleys after snowfall exceeds 2 inches for an eight-hour period following the end of the snowfall.
  • Placement of snow or ice on any Village-owned street, alley, sidewalk, or property.
