Collected From Your Yard, Then Put Back into the Earth

Oak Park compost and collection program turns leaves into "black gold" for potting and parkway.

So this is pretty cool. 

The Village of Oak Park has started a leaf composting program that takes leaves from your front yard and converts them into compost that's mixed with top soil and ultimately used for parkway restoration. 

"We're all about closing the loop," said Karen Rozmus, the village's waste reduction manager.
