Shopping Trip Offered by Senior Services Transportation

Oak Park Township Senior Services is sponsoring a shopping trip to theNorth Riverside Shopping Mall on Wednesday, Aug. 15 at 9:30 AM. The suggested donation for the trip is $2.00. All seniors within Oak Park and River Forest age 60 and over are welcome and encouraged to participate.

Caregiver Support Group Offered

Oak Park Township Senior Services offers a caregiver support group open to all individuals who are caregivers or have been, and with issues they would like toshare with others. This ongoing support group is free and meets the second and fourth Friday of each month from 10:00 to noon in their sixth floor offices at 418 S. Oak Park Ave.

Participants are afforded the opportunity to share their experiences and provide encouragement through group interaction. For more information contact Steven Smith at Oak Park Township Senior Services (708) 383-8060.

Senior Services Lunch Programs 

Oak Park Township Senior Services has a Senior Lunch Program located on the 5th floor of 418 S. Oak Park Ave. Lunches are served at 11:00 AM, Monday through Friday, with a suggested contribution of $1.50/meal. All residents 60 and over are welcome and encouraged to attend. A quarterly lunch menu and activity schedule is sent with the township senior newsletter News & Views.

Transportation to and from the lunch program is available through Senior Services Transportation at 383-4806. The menu for the next two weeks is:

The Township Senior Services Dine Out Program offers seniors the opportunity to enjoy affordable, nutritious lunches or dinners at specified local restaurants. Coupons for this program can be obtained at the Township Senior Lunch Program on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 9:00-11:00 AM for a suggested donation of $3.50.
