Online forum allows for real-time Q & A.

Cook County Board President Toni Preckwinkle will hold an online town hall Tuesday.

The focus of the event, which kicks off at 7:15 p.m., will be on the projected Cook County budget shortfall of more than $315 million. Residents can watch the meeting via live-streaming video on the County Board’s new budget website. They will also be able to participate in the town hall by submitting questions online during the event.

“Cook County residents deserve to know how and why their money is being spent and I’m looking forward to talking with folks about the budget process,” Preckwinkle said in a press release. “It’s important to take advantage of whatever mediums exist to help bring more people to the table.”
