This 1869 Victorian home is the historic Herman Yalding House, known for its American Gothic style. The home has been restored with custom millwork, high ceilings and pointed windows. According to a River Forest architectural and historical survey, typical features of a Gothic Revival house include its front gabled or asymmetrical building form, gables with decorative cross-bracing and vergeboard and pointed arch or lancet windows.
