Composting Class

Ever feel guilty about throwing kitchen peelings into the trash?  Did you ever look under a pile of leaves from last autumn and see not only earthworms but luscious dark soil?

Now you can turn from loading up the waste stream to joining the green revolution by practicing the art of home composting.  Backyard wastes like lawn clippings, plant prunings and leaves mixed with kitchen leavings in a compost system create a biologically active and environmentally responsible natural soil amendment.

Come to a composting class offered by local gardener Don Nekrosius who will share the background, process, materials and variety of composting systems you can use to turn your waste into garden gold.  This 90 minute class will give you some hands on experience in how to compost and will help you get started in your own backyard.

Location: Green Home Experts, 823 S. Oak Park Ave. Oak Park.
