Dominican University Presents Lecture on Morality in the NICU

Dominican University's Albertus Magnus Society will present a lecture titled "The Mathematics of Morality in the NICU" by William Meadow, MD, PhD on Thursday, January 20 at 7:00 p.m. The lecture will be held in Priory Room 263, 7200 W. Division Street, River Forest.

Meadow is professor of pediatrics and associate section chief at the University of Chicago Comer Children's Hospital. His research focuses on the interface between medical epidemiology and ethics, specifically in the ability, or inability, of neonatologists to predict the outcomes of extremely premature infants while they are still on mechanical ventilation. At this point, the doctors still have some alternative to continuing NICU interventions. Meadow is the co-author of the book, Neonatal Bioethics: The Moral Challenges of Medical Innovation (2006).
