Meet the Press League Fall Kick-Off: Time to Ask

The League of Women Voters of Oak Park and River Forest is pleased to announce a Fall Kick- Off panel discussion with moderator Dan Haley, editor of the Wednesday Journal, panelists Charlie Meyerson, adjunct professor of journalism, and Eric Zorn, Chicago Tribune columnist.

 About the Topic

The moderator will ask a variety of questions on topics ranging from the local to the national. The Affordable Care Act, IL State Budget & Pension, Home Rule in River Forest, and the Presidential Campaign 2012 will all be covered. Audience members will be invited to submit questions to the panelists on local, state, and federal government policies and to join the League's effort to influence public policy for more effective government at all levels.

About the Panel

Moderator, Dan Haley, a native Oak Parker has been editor and publisher of the Wednesday Journal since its first issue July 31, 1980. Haley, along with two colleagues and backed by 65 other investors have seen this independent newspaper grow to publish for five city and suburban communities.

 Charlie Meyerson, currently, a news-reporting instructor at Roosevelt University, has been a reporter, writer, web producer, newscaster and news director. He has received numerous awards from multiple press and media organizations in his 35 year career.

 Eric Zorn, a graduate of the University of Michigan, joined the Chicago Tribune in 1980 and in 1986 became a news-feature columnist. He is co-author of the 1990 book, Murder of Innocence, a study of the life and tragic rampage of Winnetka schoolhouse killer Laurie Dann.
