The Glen Ellyn Area Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. in conjunction with Oak Park Arms presents “Senior Fair 2011” from 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Saturday, March 26, at the Oak Park Arms Retirement Community, 408 S. Oak Park Ave., Oak Park. The public is invited.
A variety of free health screenings will take place including hearing, vision, blood pressure and glucose. In addition there information will be provided about in-home care, hospice, Medicaid, Medicare, prevention of sexually transmitted diseases, depression and other mental health issues, and colon cancer.
An array of financial workshops will take place, too, including:
- reverse mortgages
- estate panning / legal documents
- general/ healthcare power of attorney / legal documents
- annuities
- insurance needs/ requirements such as homeowners, long term care, life, etc.
Sponsors of the Senior Fair are the American Cancer Society, AARP, Blue Cross Blue Shield, the American Diabetes Association, and Allstate.
The Oak Park Arms is a rental retirement community which provides independent and assisted living apartments and a full schedule of activities and services. Furnished apartments are also available for a short-term stay - a weekend, a week, a month or longer.
