Irving Green Space Project To Cost $2 Million

Eco-friendly area will replace blacktop at the school.

The Irving Schoolyard Project will need to raise some green in order to build the ecological schoolyard its organizers desire.

A preliminary cost analysis presented by PTO member Jassen Strokosch to the District 97 school board, shows it will cost at least $2 million, according to Wednesday Journal.

The space will have its blacktop removed and replaced with a green space, including a garden and athletic fields. The money will come from grants, private foundations and possibly money from the state.
