Julian Parent: School 'Dragging Their Feet' After Child Punched, Bruised at Locker

Police investigating May 19 incident at school.

The parent of a  student is criticizing the school's administrators for a delay in punishing the bullying student she said is responsible for tripping and punching her 13-year-old daughter.

"My daughter's been complaining since the first day of school this year that there's bullying and punching and hitting and tripping every single day and they do nothing about it. So half the time she hasn't even told us stuff. Because nothing changes," Elisabeth Schaffrath told Wednesday Journal

Schaffrath's daughter, a sixth-grader at Julian, was allegedly tripped and punched at her locker by a 12-year-old male classmate on May 19. Though bruised after the attack, the girl tried to cover up her wounds and concoct a story about where she got them.
