Oak Park, River Forest High School Make Best Schools List

U.S. News & World Reports released its Best Public High School rankings today.

Oak Park & River Forest High School is one of the best public high schools in Illinois, according to rankings released today by U.S. News & World Report

Oak Park and River Forest High School ranked 25th in the state, according to the rankings. U.S. News analyzes data from the 2010-2011 school year from more than 21,000 schools located in 49 states and the District of Columbia to determine the rankings. 

Nationally, the school was ranked as the 581st top school in the country. The school ranked above the state average for college readiness and math and reading proficiency and was near the state level for student-to-teacher ratio, which was 16 students for every one teacher, according to the rankings.

The rankings were achieved in conjunction with the American Institutes for Research (AIR), which according to the U.S. News website, is one of the largest behavioral and social science research organizations in the world.
