Rotary Club of Oak Park-River Forest to host basketabll fundraiser

The Rotary Club of Oak Park-River Forest’s Rotary Rascals basketball team will take on the internationally acclaimed Harlem Ambassadors in a charity event at 7 p.m. Oct. 11 at Trinity High School, 7574 West Division St., River Forest.

The Harlem Ambassadors offer a unique brand of Harlem-style basketball, featuring high-flying slam dunks, dazzling ball-handling tricks and hilarious comedy routines.

The Ambassadors feature non-stop laughs and deliver a positive message for kids wherever the Ambassadors play.

The Ambassadors set themselves apart from other “Harlem-style” basketball teams by working with local not-for-profit and service organizations and holding Harlem Ambassadors shows as community fundraising events. The Ambassadors have partnered with the Rotary Club of Oak Park-River Forest to help raise funds for community initiatives.

The Rotary Club of Oak Park-River Forest supports a wide variety of special community projects ranging from child care, youth services, adult counseling programs to cultural projects.

The Rotary Club’s mission is to provide service to others, to promote high ethical standards, and to advance world understanding, goodwill, and peace through its fellowship of business, professional, and community leaders.

The Rotary Club will also be collecting new or gently used winter coats for homeless veterans.

Tickets are $10 for adults, $7 for students and free for children 4 and under. Tickets are available by calling (708) 328-8383 or at both Community Bank locations: 1001 Lake St., Oak Park and 7777 Lake St., River Forest.
