H-F Band Parents Association Toots Its Horn at Viking Football Games

In charge of setting up and holding the drum major's ladder at halftime, Dennis Matl, Dave Staehlin and Dan Carey also cheer on the Homwood-Flossmoor football team.

Next time you go to a Homewood-Flossmoor football game, pay closer attention to the halftime performance by the Vikings' marching band.

If you look close enough, you will notice three men tooting their own horns. Well, not exactly. Dennis Matl, Dave Staehlin and Dan Carey are in charge of setting up and holding the drum major's ladder.

"We enjoy supporting the band that our kids are in," Carey said.  "We have a lot of fun doing it."

Decked out in school colors and Viking helmets, these men are hard to miss and will get you into the spirit to cheer on the Vikings.
