OPRF Tennis Team Takes 2nd in State

OPRF girls doubles team takes second in state final. In other sports news: Football starts postseason play tonight, girls volleyball heads to sectionals and boys soccer ends season with loss to Benet Academy.

Girls Tennis

Oak Park and River Forest High School doubles team Tess Trinka and Taylor Arends took second in doubles play at the IHSA state tournament last weekend. The OPRF team took 10th overall, and Jasmine Owens won two matches in the consolation round of singles, according OPRF.

The Huskies will kick off postseason play against Dundee-Crown at 7:30 p.m. Friday. OPRF beat Morton 41-6 Friday in Berwyn, ending their almost-perfect regular season with an 8-1 record. Can't make it to the game Friday? Watch the live feed on High School Cube (see video above).

Girls Volleyball

The Huskies defeated De La Salle to win the regional championship Thursday, securing a spot in the sectionals. The Huskies will face Downers Grove North at Morton East High School at 7 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 5. 

Boys Soccer

Seeded sixth in the 3A Hinsdale South tournament, OPRF lost to No. 3 seed Benet Academy 5-2 in the 3A Hinsdale South Regional final on Friday, ending their season with a 10-6-5 record. Read more about the game on High School Cube News here.
