  • First, prep for the 4th of July at the Park District of Forest Park's 3rd of July Celebration, starting at 5 p.m. at the Park District, 7501 Harrison St. The food court will open at 5, accompanied by DJ entertainment until 8 p.m. Final Say will cap off the night with a concert from 8:30 until 10 p.m.
  • On the big day, head to Longfellow Park, at Ridgeland Avenue and Adams Street, where the annual 4th of July parade kicks off at 10 a.m. The parade will travel north on Ridgeland to Augusta Street and go east to disperse near Whittier Elementary School, according to the Village of Oak Park.
  • The annual fireworks display will begin at dusk at the Oak Park and River Forest High School, near East Avenue and Lake Street.
