From the Village of Oak Park:
Repairs to the railroad viaduct over Harlem Avenue at South and North boulevards are expected to continue to detour traffic overnight for another few days. The Union Pacific Railroad received permission from the Illinois Department of Transportation to completely close Harlem, which is Illinois 43, at the viaduct from about 8 p.m. to 5 a.m. until the repairs are completed.
Through traffic is being detoured to 1st Avenue. The Village is not involved in the project. For more information on road construction in the Village, email publicworks@oak-park.us.
