A girl scout was able to greatly boost cookie sales by setting up shop in front of a San Francisco pot club.

Mashable.com reported that Danielle Lei, 13, sold 117 boxes outside The Green Cross in a two hour period, 37 more boxes than she sold in front of a Safeway the next day. "Any patients at The Green Cross with the munchies didn't stand a chance," Mashable reported.

"It's no secret that cannabis is an appetite stimulant – so it's not shocking that a lot of our patients came and purchased cannabis and then saw the cookies and purchased them," NBC quoted Holli Bert, a spokesperson for The Green Cross.

What kind of example is that setting for the girls? How does the parents explain the reasoning behind there staged presence? Next the girls will be customers of the store!
steven Jacobs February 21, 2014 at 05:40 PM
why stop there-set up next to a crack-cocaine booth-that's where we are headed anyway
Stephen Arzoomanian February 21, 2014 at 06:16 PM
Next there will be a pastry business opening next door, the girl scouts are on the ball, they knew only people with the munchkins would eat those stale nasty cookies baked In past centuries.Did she go home and tell her mom I made money for the scouts by selling snacks to pot heads ?

Well, I am too old to be a Girl Scout...but I sure as hell can bake up a storm and set up a table at any of the dispensaries in the Seattle area. Watch out Betty Crocker!

rubberband February 21, 2014 at 09:35 PM
And .....I'm pretty sure the ThinMints contain something illegally addictive, because why did I just buy five boxes of them? Still waiting on the delivery, and yes, I'll be hiding at least two boxes.

Boy scouts could compete with the Girl scouts now by selling TWINKIES
Mary Kay Lauck February 22, 2014 at 09:55 AM
I think it is a appalling that adults would allow children to set up in front of these places. They are not even old enough to make decisions on their own. I just think it is bad judgement
John Strother February 22, 2014 at 11:33 AM
this isn't local news, its 3000 miles away.
rubberband February 22, 2014 at 11:54 AM
It's the NEW Patch!....But come on, John, you know...Girl Scouts....Cookies....Pot....Complete strangers expressing their political, psychological, EMOTIONAL opinions/beliefs/ANGST and hostility on a supposedly LOCAL news and open social source.....Doesn't it FEEL local? And really, are we ALL connected by the love of the evil ThinMint? Why I feel like we're old neighbors....
ken February 22, 2014 at 12:07 PM
Could it be the demographics of the average pot smoker lean toward a more socially compassionate individual, more willing to help others in need than the demographics of the average Safeway shopper? But let's do the conservative thing and ignore a logical, scientific reason in favor of an opinion that fits our agenda and beliefs.

Capitalism at its finest. Of course, joining the marijuana stampede should be nothing new for the Girl Scouts. Over the years they have become a leftist organization pushing their progressive, pro-abortion agenda upon our little girls. I had to explain to my 10yo girl why she couldn't join like a couple of her other friends had and it wasn't pleasant. My 10yo son was able to join Trail Life, an alternative to the Boy Scouts this year after the BS decided to allow the homosexual deviants to become part of this once honorable group. Very sad indeed.

girlscout leadership and her parents should be proud raising another little girl up to also take advantage of people who are abused by society creating their drug habits instead of helping them get away from drug use. way to go girlscouts wooo hooo ?corrupting another minor child's under developed mind from being able to tell what is right and wrong behavior in society......
Ben Novick February 22, 2014 at 01:19 PM
Add M&Ms, little cheese burgers, nuts, and ice cream, to the menu, and these girl scouts are on their way to munchie success.

Smart girl, I give her credit. If only people on wall street had her insight.

When was the last time you wrote about Plainview in the Plainview patch? Bring back the old staff and people who cared about our community!!!

When is everyone going to catch on that local Patch is gone. Local reporters have been laid off. There isn't anyone to report the local news for your town. Patch depended on local business ads to fund the online newspaper. If you didn't support local business, you didn't support local news reported by Patch and it's reporters. When are people going to stop thinking they can have everything they want without a price.

Doritos Tacos. THEN you've got a lucrative stoner business. Chocolate dipped bacon.
