Employee wins Whole Foods essay contest, packs bags for philanthropy mission.
An Oak Park resident is packing her bags for a trip to India after winning a company essay contest.
Oak Leaves reports Gale Momenthy, an employee of the Whole Foods Market in Chicago's Lincoln Park neighborhood, will be headed to India to work with the grocery chain's Whole Planet Foundation. On the 10-day trip, she'll learn about microloans, work with orphans and help build a playground.
A fundraiser for Momenthy is scheduled for 5 p.m. Sunday at , 1107 Lake St.
