The Park District of Oak Park has stopped all gymnastics activity at the soon-to-be former Gymnastics and Recreation Center (GRC) at 218 Madison St. as it prepares for the big move to the new GRC in upcoming weeks.
The park district on Friday installed the new official GRC sign, and will be installing landscaping this week.
The district also paved the new parking lot and moved all equipment to the new location, according to a message from the park district.
The big event—unveiling the new GRC—will be at a Community Open House on Saturday, Oct. 5. From 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., Oak Parkers can take guided tours of the new facility, check out a team practice and the new spaces for parties and TRX classes.
Until Oct. 7, all park district gymnastics classes will be on hiatus.
