Portion of Harlem Avenue to Close Jan. 6-10

Union Pacific will be conducting repairs on the Harlem Avenue rail bridge south of Lake Street. Harlem Avenue will be closed during work times.

The following message is from the Village of River Forest:

Union Pacific will be conducting repairs on the Harlem Avenue rail bridge south of Lake Street. Harlem Avenue will be closed during work times. Work is scheduled to begin on January 6 and end on or before January 10, 2014, and will typically be conducted between the hours of 9 p.m. and 5 a.m.  Traffic will be diverted according to the following detour routes:

Southbound traffic on Harlem Avenue will be re-routed westbound on Lake Street to First Avenue, south on First Avenue to Madison Street, east to Madison Street to Harlem Avenue and south on Harlem Avenue.

Northbound traffic on Harlem Avenue (south of the Lake Street bridge) will be re-routed westbound on Madison Street to First Avenue, north on First Avenue to Lake Street, east on Lake Street to Harlem Avenue and north on Harlem Avenue.
