Ribfest (Forest Park) 

The Village of Forest Park is sponsoring our 7th Ribfest from 1-11 p.m. on Saturday, September 14th, 2013, at the Forest Park Picnic Grove, 7824 Madison Street, Forest Park Cash Prizes will be awarded to the 1st, 2nd and 3rd place winners, and best decorated tent/booth.

There will be activities for all members of the family...from ages 2 to 102...including contestant rib sampling (at a nominal charge), live music all day plus much more. In the past years the event was such a success drawing crowds of over 4,000 hungry people. Amateur Chefs Only. Everyone welcome from anywhere. No admission cost.

Free screening of "A Place at the Table" at First United Church of Oak Park, 848 Lake St., 6 p.m. (If you missed the showing at the Lake Theater, now's your chance to see it. It's a fantastic documentary about hunger in America.)
