See Green Living Firsthand at the Green Living & Learning Tour Sept. 28

Green Community Connections will host the third annual Green Living & Learning Tour Saturday, Sept. 28, featuring 18 sites and including nine hour-long tours between 12 and 5 p.m.

A tour of private homes, gardens and businesses this weekend in Oak Park and River Forest will give Oak Parkers and those curious about greening their lives first-hand examples of sustainable living. 

Green Community Connections will host the third annual Green Living & Learning Tour Saturday, Sept. 28, featuring 18 sites and including nine hour-long tours between 12 and 5 p.m.

Highlighted features of the tour will include an energy efficient "passive house" in River Forest, a local fish farm and winemaking operation, examples of going green in a condo, water harvesting and curbside composting, according to the event website.

There will also be a picnic in the northwest corner of (Berkshire and Woodbine) Field Park hosted by Sugar Beet Co-Op at the end of the day from 5-7 p.m.
