Native Plants for Bird Habitat by Stephen Packard, Hosted by West Cook Wild Ones

Our native birds are struggling to survive.  The Audubon Society has written that many of our common bird species are down by 68% while others are down by 80%.  Many of them migrate and face many dangers on their trips and habitat loss, pesticide use, car and building collisions (window collisions account for about 1 billion bird deaths each year).

Birds need our yards and landscapes if they are to continue to exist.  The best way to ensure their survival is to plant native trees, bushes, and plants.  These will provide food and cover for their birds and their young over the year.

Come to our event this Sunday and learn how to help these beautiful creatures from one of the Chicago area's most important environmentalists.
