West Suburban Medical Center and Westlake Hospital Announce New Chief Executive Officer

Patrick Maloney, 47, has been named Chief Executive Officer of West Suburban Medical Center in Oak Park, Ill., and Westlake Hospital, in Melrose Park, Ill., effective February 28, 2014.

  

An accomplished executive with more than 20 years of healthcare experience, Maloney most recently served as CEO of Hernando Health in Hernando County, Fla., an investor-owned system with two hospitals, two ambulatory surgery centers and several outpatient facilities. Prior to Hernando, he held roles of increasing responsibilities with Broward Health in Fort Lauderdale, Fla., one of the largest public healthcare systems in the nation. He began his career in Philadelphia, Pa., working at Temple University Hospital and Thomas Jefferson University Hospital, both major academic medical centers.

Maloney has a bachelor’s degree from Widener University in Chester, Pa., and a master of business administration degree from Temple University in Philadelphia. He is an active volunteer leader in civic, charitable, and community organizations, and received an Early Careerist Award from the American College of Healthcare Executives.

 

Celebrating its 100-year anniversary in 2014, West Suburban Medical Center is a 233-bed teaching hospital located in Oak Park that is accredited by The Joint Commission. Westlake Hospital is a 225-bed hospital located in Melrose Park that is accredited by the Healthcare Facilities Accreditation Program. The hospitals offer a comprehensive array of advanced inpatient, outpatient and surgical services and are leaders in orthopedics, gastroenterology, oncology, cardiology, obstetrics, bariatric services, rehabilitative medicine, and behavioral health.
