Insurance company opens doors on Berwyn’s Cermak Road with mission to help the immigrant community

Xpress Insurance located at 2144 S Clarence Ave in Berwyn held a grand opening in partnership with the Berwyn Development Corporation (BDC) on September 4. This new insurance company aims to educated clients about their insurance needs while providing them with tailor made policies for Auto, Home, and Commercial insurance.

The brainchild of partners Jimmy V. Ruiz, Peter G. Almanza, and Abraham Ruiz, Xpress Insurance is more than just your run of the mill insurance company. The idea for the company stemmed from a breakfast meeting where Peter and Jimmy identified the need to focus their resources on educating the community in the wake of the passage of the Illinois Driver’s License bill for undocumented drivers.

Ruiz will combine his 20 years of service in the business sector with Almanza’s 30 years in academia to educate the Berwyn community and to provide customized insurance policies to their clients. “We want to educate the growing Latino community in Berwyn about insurance so they can understand what they need and find the policies that best suit them. Most people don’t know what they are provided in their insurance policies. They think they’re covered for any damage but they really aren’t. So we want to provide them with the knowledge and confidence that comes with understating their policy needs.”

With the plan to keep prices low, providing quality service and with ideas of expansion, Xpress Insurance is always thinking about the community and families. “We want to insure families and protect the community by providing them with reliable insurance to best fit their needs,” Almanza said.

We appreciate your entrepreneurship and are here to assist you with any of your needs or issues.” Jon Fey, BDC Board President, continued, “Insurance companies are here to help mitigate the pain of accidents and loss. You have a great staff and a long-term plan that sets you up to do well. We wish you every success in the world.”
